We need to be conscious of wellbeing, and how we can impact it too in our roles. It’s hard for our people to leave their issues at the door when they’re working, especially if they don’t feel that they come to be fulfilled by work that they enjoy.
This is backed up by research that only 9% of UK employees are currently engaged at work, down from 11% last year. Take a look at Gallup’s 2022 State of the Workplace research, a really interesting study, across all industries and not just in the UK.
Likewise we can see how the role of employees has evolved. People now have competing demands from all the different areas of their business, and if we work from home, we’ve got other things happening. So there’s a lot of confusion and disengagement.
