2020 Planning Case Study: Building a team that demonstrates value & improvement to stakeholders at L&G

See how the Operational Planning team has implemented its own transformation and governance framework with an aim to become ‘cost neutral’ as a planning function. They have utilised the data and tools we have access to, to not only advise on service but to identify opportunities to improve efficiency.

  • Staff have been upskilled through training across a number of skill sets. Training includes six sigma, SQL, Forum training. When the business case is raised for training, they are expected to see a tangible ROI.
  • Weekly meetings and team workshops are run to drive change. They have created a ‘Hopper’ to track expected improvements form better processes and an ‘anti-hopper’ to track changes that may counter these
  • In 2019 they were forecasted to deliver 29.5 FTE of efficiencies into the business as a planning team. This has turned them into an area that is now beyond cost neutral and reporting a profit Vs its cost base.
