Salary:  £35,264 - £48,448 per annum

As part of this, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Claims Demand Planner within our Leeds-based city centre office on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop demand planning models based on the latest statistical data (through use of SAS and Microsoft Applications), business intelligence and ensure they are useable, robust and fit for purpose to meet current and future business requirements
  • Apply statistical and probability methodologies to the demand planning models to identify trends, whilst supporting strategic Claims initiatives by utilising robust M.I. and analysis to enable strong decision making through use of the planning model
  • Through SAS, adopt efficient design principles for use in the capacity planning process and productionise value add reports in conjunction with business stakeholders
  • Generate insight on the impact of demand fluctuation on operational service levels and resourcing constraints, including behaviour of operational key metrics and provide meaningful interpretation (in non technical terms) to key customers, colleagues and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate and maintain accurate strategic and demand planning forecasting across all appropriate areas of Claims to deliver optimal performance predictions
  • Ensure robust and controlled single source of data is administered strongly from which all Planning and analysis outputs are driven
  • Identify improvement opportunities/efficiencies through the capacity planning process in order to contribute to the profitability of DLG Insurance
  • Develop statistical techniques & models that can be utilised by wider team and analyst community
  • Adopt a creative approach to resolving complex problems in mining and manipulation of data, identify non-standard mechanisms and approaches to achieve the desired output
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication to all stakeholders regarding performance
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, striving to achieve a ‘best’ in class Planning function
  • Create own development opportunities and maintain technical application knowledge and to provide recommendations on developing new tools and techniques

Key Skills and Experience

  • Long-term demand forecasting and Employee Life-cycle planning
  • Robust understanding of data structures, design and development methodologies
  • Strong data manipulation skills and advanced knowledge of SAS, Excel including VBA
  • Relationship Management and excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into a story
  • Excellent understanding of Operational performance
  • Problem solving skills

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday
