Planning for COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all of us, the changes and impacts will continue for some time. It’s during times like this when you need you remember that you are part of a community of best practice, so don’t be alone. The Forum is your friendly, safe environment for sharing ideas, top tips and pitfalls to avoid. In this time of uncertainty its important that we collaborate and work together, bringing together ideas and use this time as an opportunity to learn and continue to raise standards.

We have designed three short series of learning academy modules, along with a top-tips & pitfalls to avoid for homeworking webinar and then a virtual networking group to help you. Phil Anderson has written an article about some of the considerations you might need to make.

Your chance to speak to Awards finalists from Lloyds Banking Group and Capita Regulated Services. These finalists have taken planning into new areas of the business that can often been seen as areas that “cannot be planned for”. At this virtual, interactive workshop, you can hear more about how they achieved their success.

  • Learn how they engaged with stakeholders to gain buy-in.
  • Hear how they benchmarked a starting point to provide the data needed.
  • See how they made planning a must-have in these new areas of business.

Understand more about what’s happening in other organisations and sectors. Meet key stakeholders in these organisations and can network to learn from other members working on these same topics and challenges. This session will be valuable for planners, mangers or business leaders looking to learn about best practice in planning and how to strategically extend the role of planning across the business.

Two great planning teams demonstrated how resource planning can be truly strategic and transformative within the business.

At Lloyds Banking Group, planning principles have been deployed into the branch network to start transforming working practices, a capability which has been central to the branch network in this pandemic.

At Capita Regulated Services, finalists in both Planning and Innovation Awards, transformation for clients in life or pensions services is being made possible by a common operational excellence framework that charts a transformation journey of maturity for back office and end-to-end process operations. The award-winning, central planning team works across multiple sites and clients, in both front and back-office work. This Service Modernisation builds planning and operational maturity, in a consistent and deliverable manner. Take a moment to look at their ward finalist video before this session as there is much to learn. Also at Capita Regulated Services, Graham Watson, in the Planning Analyst Awards, has been the centre of a team who have made massive changes in how Central Planning are seen by the business, designing the maturity model that the team use in developing planning in new areas.
