We facilitate Live Case Studies and best practice days, to share learning from our Award winners and finalists over the summer months, especially from the Transformation & Innovation Awards. This is another great opportunity to learn about the fantastic things that these organisations have achieved. These are interactive events to allow plenty of time for questions with key stakeholders in the transformation and networking with other delegates focussed on the same challenges.

Creating a great team environment for home workers and supporting well-being have been hot topics for 2020/21. This virtual Case Study Live is your chance to learn more about approaches taken by Awards finalists at Sensée, Bupa, Home Group, LV= and The Open University.

  • See how planners have gone beyond their usual role when occasion demands and how taking an extra step can improve relationships with operations.

At this virtual, interactive workshop, you can hear more about how they achieved their success.

In the transformation Awards, Sensée, the homeworking specialists, demonstrate how their purpose-built digital workplace and team environment is now supporting in-house and outsourced operations. Invaluable when lockdown hit, this can also drive long-term value in in creating a really engaging team environment, as well as a different way of scheduling time, to reflect the different needs and priorities of home working or hybrid working operations.

In the partnership Awards, BUPA and Sensée showed how they are creating a really engaging team environment, that works as one team across both outsource and in-house teams. Invaluable when lockdown hit, this has driven long-term engagement and value.

Gavin Rogerson, Planning Manager at Home Group, took the initiative even before Covid was declared a pandemic to review the company BCP. This meant they were ready to move to home working and his team were key in making this happen. A focus on the digital offering has cut incoming calls and fortnightly one-to-ones were introduced, rather than monthly, to keep a focus on wellbeing. 

At LV= Planning Analyst Dean Hurrell takes time to understand the business, going over and above his role as an analyst in managing the plan and create a seamless link between short- and long-term planning. He has invested his time to learn, both with teams to discover their needs, and in understanding budgets, to bring this context into his planning. 

Jamie Campbell Planning Manager from LV=, is seen as a trusted partner, delivering what matters to stakeholders. This was a challenging year, with his team doubling in size and breaking down historic siloes. He takes pride in developing his team members, always there for them. He doesn’t micro-manage but does offer support and guidance. 

The team at the Open University share how they raised their profile through the pandemic, introducing new ideas like Skype Walkers or personal emergency time off. They kept focus on delivering student registrations, which reached record levels this year. Myriad scenarios were modelled for changes in opening hours, contact channels and cross-training in both front and back-office work.
