About the role

Our Data, Quality and Improvement Team, which sits with UK Partnerships division at Macmillan Cancer Support, is growing. We are very excited to be putting in place a new Business Improvement team. We are looking for someone with strong Business Improvement and Management expertise to play a critical role in leading the delivery of this new dynamic team. 

As the Business Improvement Partner, you will drive and lead the implementation of strategic change initiatives and process improvements across our UK Partnerships function, to maximise return on investment for people living with cancer, partners and colleagues. Alongside this acting as a mentor on continuous improvement best practice within the team and across the function. 

In this role you will work closely with a range of senior stakeholders and subject matter experts across the business, to identify and prioritise initiatives; develop and agree plans for business improvement; define the best route to realise benefits; and bring those initiatives and benefits to life. You would also help define and scope initiatives to support the development of longer-term plans and roadmaps.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience of delivering continuous improvement, business improvement or transformational change in complex environments. Have strong people and communication skills. Have a proactive, positive, can-do attitude and be adaptable to working in a changing environment. You’ll have experience of supporting people, being able to lead an inclusive team where everyone can be the best version of themselves and thrive at Macmillan. We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills:

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Experience of building effective relationships with a diverse range of professions and stakeholders and working effectively at senior management level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of delivering process improvements and transitioning and embedding change
  • Strong thinking skills (problem solving and decision making)
  • Ability to work in an agile environment and adapt to changing priorities in a variety of contexts
  • Excellent IT skills in relation to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, the use of modelling tools (such as Visio, or similar)
  • Experience of working with improvement approaches, methodologies and tools such as Lean Six Sigma practices (desirable)
  • Experience in project management approaches and methodologies (desirable)
