Winners of the 2016 Data, Analytics & Insight Awards

Eight individuals and teams were recognised for being outstanding role models for their professional communities. These prestigious awards, showcase excellence in the vital customer contact support functions of data, analytics & insight.

Award Winners:

  • Geoban, Team of the Year
    This team have demonstrated a range of skills with everybody working to utilise their strengths. By following a methodical, systematic approach, producing clear project charters and breaking these down into manageable sprints, they are using data to truly understand their customer’s journey and also highlighting improvements and taking ownership of delivering these.
  • Stewart Daly, Tesco Bank Insurance, Manager of the Year
    This Manager has developed an outstanding team, with a culture of innovation, building a solid foundation of trust with a clear and transparent data strategy, identifying and nurturing talent within the organization,putting people into the area where they can add the most value and creating enthusiasm for feedback and peer review. This professional is driving continuous improvement in their team and across the wider organisation.  
  • Andy Riddell, Anglian Water Services, Analyst of the Year
    This individual has focused on professional self-awareness to develop into a great analyst, drawing on ideas and best practice from other organisations to develop himself and his colleagues. This analyst has engaged with the business to truly understand their needs and to develop a scorecard that is driving improvement within the organisation. 
  • Mae Stafford, Allianz, Analyst of the Year
    As a professional, this analyst’s vast technical knowledge is enhanced with drive, passion and enthusiasm.  By taking a clear logical approach they have improved the MI that their team produce and also, significantly,  automated many of the processes - making MI timelier and freeing up time to focus on analysis and insight.  
  • Customer Service MI Team, Sainsbury’s Bank, Rising Star Award
    This year’s award goes to a team rather than an individual. Starting out with a blank canvas and a limited budget, they are developing the data and metrics that will make a real difference, building the sphere of influence and credibility that this requires. By developing their own skills, they are unlocking new ways of working with the technologies we use every day. 
  • Marie Montoya, RSA, Forum Hero Award
    This analyst has not only helped the development of over 200 people within their own organisation but also many of the people in this room. Going out and visiting other organisations, running packed-out workshops at this year’s conferences and unlocking the power of insight by helping the industry communicate data clearly.
  • Virgin Money, Challenge Award
    Many of you are part of the Challenge programmes this year, across all our communities and we want to recognize three organisations who have really utilised the challenge to deliver tangible change in their organisation. Attending events, making the most of the methods, been open to sharing with the wider community and more. We recognize both their commitment to the programme and the results that they have achieved.
  • John Senior, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Best Newcomer Award
    This award goes to a professional who is not only new to the Forum but new to the role of an analyst. This professional makes the most of every learning opportunity, applying this in the organisation, and also draws on his previous roles, sharing this to help others. His enthusiasm for learning is infectious and he has been an inspiration to other challenge members. 

During the awards presentation evening we celebrate the achievement of professionals, inspire future success and present award winners with their trophies. Our fabulous black-tie event includes lively entertainment, music and dancing into the early hours. Inspiring, specialist and professional, this is a fantastic evening to network and enjoy.

About the Awards

These awards are dedicated to Data, Analytics & Insight professionals, recognising and celebrating their achievements in this key area within customer contact centres. The standard of awards is sustained by rigorous assessment, offering a benchmark of best practice, and the opportunity to hear and see presentations from every award winner at the National Data, Analytics & Insight Conference on 18th November.

We celebrated success with eight winners at the 2016 awards on the 15th of September. Showcasing best practice and inspiring others, these awards are a fantastic opportunity to gain external recognition for the hard work and success achieved by you and your team.

Of key importance to the success of these awards, is the unique way that the judging process worked at a Finalist Day set aside for the purpose. Not only did carefully selected external judges influence the results, but each nomination was peer assessed by other finalists in their category. This resulted in a massive opportunity for learning all round.

It was a great opportunity to recognise so many outstanding professionals and there will be a special opportunity to hear from the winners at our upcoming National Data, Analytics & Insight Conference on 18th November in Leicestershire, where they will all be speaking.
