Workforce Scheduling and Planning Manager, Newcastle

Workforce Scheduling and Planning Manager, Band 7, based at Headquarters, NE15 8NY

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in our Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), based at Ambulance Headquarters, as the Workforce Scheduling and Planning Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate workforce/ forecast plans for our Emergency Operations Centre which are vital to ensuring that we have the adequate resources to meet the significant demands of the c.1.6 million calls we handle annually across NHS111, 999 and Patient Transport Services.

You will need to have experience managing and leading a team, as well as previous experience of the utilisation and development of a workforce management system. As a senior member of the EOC Management Team, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the scheduling and forecasting system and, by ensuring accurate forecasts and planning, will also play an integral role in developing our annual recruitment and training plans.

We are already one of the best-performing services across NHS111 and 999 and are one of only two Ambulance services who also multi-skill our Health Advisors. And this must continue – particularly as we embark on a new, 5-year NHS 111 contract. Therefore, your expertise across a multi-site, multi-skilled environment will be essential to support the Trust in delivering to stretching standards and targets – all designed to ensure patient safety.

An innovative approach is also sought to look at new ways of working and service development. You will need to be educated to post graduate degree level in a relevant discipline or have significant relevant experience in forecasting, scheduling, planning and complex data analysis in a multi-site customer contact centre environment.
