09:30 - 10:30 Conference Opening Keynotes

Chaired by Phil Anderson, The Forum's leaders open the day with two fantastic keynote speakers and the launch of The Forum's 2017 programme. Where are planning functions driving breakthrough performance and demonstrating value? What are the critical factors that make it possible to release this potential in us and our teams? How can we use today to gain fresh insight and leverage the resources of the wider professional community?

John Casey is The Forum’s Course Director for the BSc programme. Previously European Director of Resource Planning at Stream Global Services, John has extensive planning and operational experience in the industry. In current role for 8 years, John is part of The Forum’s Best Practice delivery team as well as working with students at all levels of the programme – leading both face to face and online workshops.

Nicola Callan is Head of Engagement & Learning at The Forum and brings with her a background in Process Definition & Improvement, Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement and Colleague Engagement. Additionally, she has significant experience in people and leadership principles and is an active coach and mentor. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, Nicola initially worked on The Forum’s organisational design and strategy and is now responsible for individual engagement with our annual programme, overseeing the personal accredited professionals programme and our member’s experience at all our events and learning opportunities. 

Phil Anderson is a Community Development Manager providing a range of membership support including training, research, presentations, facilitation, consultancy and corporate reviews.  

As a Senior Customer Contact Specialist and Programme Lead of The Professional Planning Forum, Phil is keen to develop and promote innovative and new areas of planning whilst ensuring best practice with ”Brilliant Basics”. "The opportunity to develop my own knowledge and skills whilst supporting and encouraging others was one I had to take.  The Forum had already helped me to develop now it’s my turn to support others in the same way whilst adding a new dimension to The Forum team."
